The captain of the Indian cricket team Surya Kumar Yadav said that despite the announcement of Pakistan’s boycott, we will go to Colombo without facing Pakistan in the T20 World Cup.
According to the report of the Cricket website, the Captain of the Indian Cricket team Varia Kumar Yadav while informing the media in Mumbai said that our team has gone to Colombia whether there is a match or not.
He said that our mind is very clear, we have not banned them from playing, it has been rejected by Pakistan, ICC has made a schedule, BCCI (Board of Cricket in India) and the government had decided to play at a neutral venue in coordination with ICC.
Sureya Kumar Yadav said our tickets are booked, we are going, we will see what happens later.
The T20 World Cup 2026 hosted by India and Sri Lanka begins on February 7, while the match between arch-rivals India and Pakistan is scheduled for February 15 in Colombo.
It is worth remembering that the Pakistan government announced that it will boycott the February 15 match with India, while the ICC asked Pakistan to review its decision.
According to observers, if the World Cup match between arch-rivals India and Pakistan does not take place, the ICC and the hosts may suffer a huge financial loss, so the ICC faces a problem.
On the other hand, India will have to reach the ground as planned to wait for the opposition team and complete other processes, including the post-match press conference, despite Pakistan’s refusal to gain valuable points in the group, resulting in two points.
Pakistan team will play their first match on February 7, the group includes teams from Namibia, Netherlands and USA apart from India.
