Former Pakistan all-rounder Yasir Arafat has been appointed as the bowling coach of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) cricket team for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
According to the Emirates Cricket Board, 43-year-old Yasir Arafat will work with the UAE team in the World Cup, while he will coach the team in the two-match T20 series against Ireland. The second T20 match against Ireland will be played today at the Dubey International Stadium.
Yasir Arafat represented Pakistan in 3 Tests, 11 ODIs and 13 T20 Internationals.
It is worth mentioning that Yasir Arafat has a great experience in the field of coaching. He has worked with English county teams Sussex and Surrey and is also the bowling coach of Perth Scorchers, a leading Big Bash League franchise in Australia.
Apart from this, he has also served as High Performance Coach of Pakistan, Bowling Coach of Hong Kong National Team and Bowling Consultant of South Africa.
On the other hand, UAE announced the 15-member squad for the ICCT Twenty20 World Cup, in the tournament, the UAE team is placed in Group D where they face Afghanistan, Canada, New Zealand and South Africa.
