The sale of Multan Sultan is likely to bring more than 2 billion dollars into the PCB’s coffers, in which some foreign parties have shown great interest even before the auction, the former owners also want to get the team back.
According to reports, Multan Sultanan’s contract was not extended due to disputes between the owners and the PCB. Initially, the board announced that it would take over the French affairs in this year’s 11th edition, however, after the sale of 2 new teams at a huge price, the intention changed.
Hyderabad was sold for Rs 1 crore 75 crore while Sialkot was sold for Rs 1 crore 85 crore per annum. In the past days, advertisements were also distributed for the sale of Sultans of Multan. The last day for submission of technical tenders is Friday.
The sources stated that a great interest has been shown to acquire the franchise, 2 companies are ready to pay up to two billion rupees, but the decision will be through the auction, it is interesting that the previous owners also want to return the team, they also participated in the bidding for 2 new teams.
The board asked him to hand over the fees, or face disqualification, he was immediately paid, at which point he asked if he could choose a team name other than the given names, to which he was told that it would be possible for the PCB to approve after sending the million dollar fee, but then he withdrew from the auction a few minutes earlier.
The sources stated that the former owner had a meeting with a senior PCB official and said that the fee should be returned to the team after the evaluation with 1 billion and 35 kroner. This team is mine and it is my right. However, he was told that this is not possible now.
Later, when the PCB announced the auction, the contacts were made by some circles as to why it is being done this year, at first it was said that this year the team will be managed by itself, but the official remained on his decision, now the name of the franchise owner will be revealed in the next few days, the previous annual fee of the franchise was around one billion and 8 billion rupees.
