Pakistan’s 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup has been announced

Pakistan announced the 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup 2026, Salman Ali Agha will be the captain of the Pakistan team.

Captain Salman Ali Agha, Head Coach Mike Hesson and Director of High Performance Center Aqib Javed announced the squad for the World Cup while holding a press conference in Lahore.

Faheem Ashraf, Khawaja Muhammad Nafi, Muhammad Salman Mirza, Sahibzada Farhan and Usman Tariq are participating in the T20 World Cup.

Ebrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Muhammad Nawaz, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Usman Khan, Sayem Ayyub, Shadab Khan and Nasim Shah are also included in the World Cup team.

On this topic, Director of High Performance Center Aqib Javed said that Haris Rauf has been with us for a long time, the team has been selected by finding the best fit, the players have been selected according to what cricket can be in Sri Lanka.

He said that there will be no selection for Tests, ODIs and T20s.

Aqib Jawid said that regarding Babar Azam, the coach and captain also feel that he can play an important role.

Captain Salman Ali Axa said that there is an advantage in playing matches at the same place, but despite this, good cricket will be played. Ready and excited for the World Cup.

Salman Ali Akha said that Babar Azam’s campaign did not go well, but he has performed well for Pakistan.

Head coach Mike Hesson said Usman Khan’s performance since his return to the team has been excellent, with the wicketkeeper batting at number six.

He said that Khawaja Nafi was included in the World Cup as a substitute goalkeeper.

Mike Hasson also pointed out that Sahibzada Farhan is also there to cover, but he does not move, Sahibzada Farhan is a key member of the T20 team.

On a question, Aqeeb Jawid said that we are voters and our job is to select the team, it is for the government to decide whether we want to play the World Cup or not.

The T20 World Cup matches will be played from 7th February to 8th March, Pakistan will start their World Cup campaign on 7th February against Netherlands.
