The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has refused to travel to India for the ICCT World Twenty20 and if Bangladesh does not participate in the event, the Bangladesh board may face a loss of $27 million.
According to the reports published in the Indian media, if the ICCT World Cup 20 is boycotted, Bangladesh may suffer a huge financial loss and according to estimates, due to the boycott of the World Cup, Bangladesh will lose 27 million dollars, which is about 325 billion dollars.
This financial loss to Bangladesh will come from ICC’s annual revenue, not participating in the World Cup will cost the Bangladesh Cricket Board 60% of their annual revenue.
Apart from this, the Bangladesh Cricket Board may also lose broadcasting and sponsorship revenue due to not participating in the World Cup.
According to the Indian media, Bangladesh’s upcoming bilateral series against India may also be at risk due to the boycott and there is a possibility that BCB’s revenue will be more negatively affected due to the absence of a bilateral series.
According to Indian media reports, bilateral series are also planned between Bangladesh and India this year.
