Pakistani sharpshooter Muhammad Farrukh Nadeem won gold in Men’s Trap Final in the ongoing Asian Shotgun Championship and thus set two new records.
His scores of 23, 25, 24, 24 and 23 earned him a new world record in the final as well as a new Asian record in the final.
Maxim Bedarev of Kazakhstan won silver and Abdulrahman Alfaihan of Kuwait won bronze in this event, while Farrukh’s compatriot Zafarul Haq finished in 28th position.
Farrukh was ranked seventh after the qualifying round.
This gold marks Pakistan’s first and only medal in the championship so far.
Kazakhstan dominates the medal count with 14 medals including five gold medals, as many bronze medals and four silver medals. They are followed by Qatar with three gold medals and four silvers.
