After the change in the retention policy of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11, the franchise faced challenges.

For PSL 11, each team will be able to have only one player in each category, thus star players will not be able to get a place in their teams.

For the event, Peshawar Zalmi has Babar Azam, Saeem Ayub and Tom Koller in the platinum category, who is facing a difficult choice of Babar Azam or Saeem Ayub.

Whether Islamabad United will retain Naseem Shah or skipper Shadab Khan, this decision has been difficult for the team management.

Similarly, Quetta Gladiators will choose between Abrar Ahmed or Muhammad Amir in the diamond category.

Lahore Qalandars have Shaheen Shah Afri, Fakhar Zaman and Daryl Mitchell in the platinum category, the team has to retain one of the three players for PSL 11.
