Pakistan U-19 team will face Scotland U-19 in the second match of Group C of the ICC Men’s U-19 Cricket World Cup today.
The match will be played at the Takashinga Sports Club in Harare, with the first ball at 09.30 local time and kick-off at 09.00.
Pakistan’s U-19 team lost to England by 37 runs in the first match of the World Cup. In this match, captain Farhan Yusif scored 65 runs and Ahmed Hussain played 3 wickets.
Before the match, the Pakistan team took part in a practice session at the Old Harriers Ground, where field drills and net sessions were conducted under the leadership of coach Shahid Anwar.
Speaking to PCB Digital, bowling coach Rao Iftikhar Anjum said that the result of the first match was disappointing, but the team has been preparing for the last six months and there was a positive meeting between the players and the coaches.
He said that aspects of bowling improvement have been discussed and the team is hoping for a strong performance against Scotland.
Rao Iftikhar Anjum added that the players are mentally strong, cricket has ups and downs and the main thing is to come back the team is fully prepared for it.
Pakistan and Scotland U-19 teams have met three times in the ICC U-19 World Cup and each time Pakistan has won. The last meeting between the two teams was in the U-19 World Cup 2020 in South Africa where Pakistan won by 7 wickets.
