Report: Soheyl Imran. Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has instructed to temporarily stop all preparations of the Cricket team for the ICCT Twenty Cricket World Cup.
Sources reveal that after the Pakistan team’s preparations have been suspended, the team management will be briefed about the future activities.
According to sources, a parallel plan has been requested from the team management for not participating in the T20 World Cup.
It is worth mentioning that Pakistan has assured full support for Bangladesh’s decision not to go to India for the T20 World Cup.
Pakistan called the security concerns of Bangladesh reasonable and valid and if the problem of Bangladesh is not resolved, Pakistan has requested to consider the decision to participate in the World Cup.
The PCB had also agreed that if the venues for Bangladesh’s matches in Sri Lanka are not available, then Pakistan is ready to host those matches.
According to officials, all the stadiums in Pakistan are fully ready to host World Cup matches, and Pakistan has successfully hosted major ICC events in the past, including the 2025 Champions Trophy and the ICC Women’s Championship.
On the other hand, Cricket Ireland has made it clear that the ICC will not shift Ireland’s group stage matches from Sri Lanka.
A final decision on Bangladesh’s participation in the T20 World Cup is expected on January 21, following recent talks between the ICC and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) in Dhaka.
