Bangladeshi cricketers have warned of a boycott after the announcement of a senior BCB official.
The controversy started when BCB manager Nazul Islam criticized former opener Tamim Iqbal as an Indian agent.
Bangladesh cricketers have warned that they will boycott all formats of the game if BCB manager M Nazul Islam does not resign.
Nazul Islam criticized Tamim Iqbal and wrote on social media that this time the people of Bangladesh have seen another Indian agent with their own eyes.
Tamim Iqbal had recently said that Bangladesh should carefully consider India’s decision not to go to the T20 World Cup 2026, after Nazulul Islam named Tamim Iqbal as India’s representative.
Cricketers Welfare Association of Bangladesh Mohammad Mithan announced in a virtual press conference that if the director of the board does not resign, all matches will be suspended.
On the other hand, the Bangladesh Cricket Board issued a statement in which it dissociated itself from the controversial statement and said that such statements do not represent the board’s policies and values and that statements given by appropriate sources should be considered as the official position of the board.
BCB avoided controversial statements and said that the delegation has nothing to do with his statement.
