India has rejected the visa application of Pakistani players of the US cricket team.
In a story shared on Instagram, American actor Ali Khan shared a picture of himself eating on an insect and wrote in the caption that his Indian visa application was rejected, so the preparations of the American teams were questioned.
It is clear from Ali Khan’s Instagram story that he is currently not allowed to enter India.
This situation is also dangerous as most of USA’s matches in Group A are scheduled in India.
The USA take on hosts India at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on February 7, followed by matches against the Netherlands and Namibia in Chennai.
If the visa issue is not resolved in time, the team may have to make last minute team changes which will cause them difficulties.
While no actor other than Ali Khan has been directly confirmed to have been denied a visa, social media reports suggest that other Pakistani-American actors, Shayan Jahangir, Ehsan Adil and Mohammad Mohsin, may face the same challenges.
So far, there has been no official statement from USA Cricket and ICC in this regard.
According to sources, many partner teams are worried about visa issues ahead of matches in India, especially for players with Pakistani backgrounds or documents, as their applications are under increased scrutiny.
This made management issues an unnecessary discussion before the tournament.
