Bangladesh Test team captain Najmal Hussain Shanto has broken his silence on the ongoing controversy regarding Bangladesh’s participation in India in the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
The T20 World Cup will start from February 7, with India and Sri Lanka hosting all four of Bangladesh’s group stage matches in India, but the Bangladesh Cricket Board has refused to go to India due to security concerns, as the team’s participation is still uncertain.
In this regard, Necmal Husên Şanto said that the external problems surrounding the team put mental pressure on the players, but they do not let this appear as a professional responsibility.
He said that such issues affect the players but we are professional players so we act as if nothing affects but the truth is that it is not easy so it is better that such issues do not arise.
Shantu said that wherever the World Cup is played, the players should think that nothing can affect them and they can give the best performance to the team.
It is to be noted that Nejmal Hussain Shanto is not a part of Bangladesh’s 15-man squad selected for the upcoming T20 World Cup and Bangladesh Team will be led by Liton Das in this tournament.
