Before the match in Dambulla, the ground was completely closed due to rain and initially the match was delayed late and then the match was cancelled.
Pakistan leads the 3-match series 0-1, with the Green Bags winning the first match by 6 wickets.
The third and final T20 match of the series will be played in Dambulla on January 11.
