Report: Soheyl Imran. Former Bangladesh cricketer Tamim Iqbal termed Mustafizur Rehman’s ouster from IPL as a sad act.
Opener Tamim Iqbal, who has played 243 ODIs for Bangladesh, said in a statement that Mustafizur Rahman’s withdrawal from the IPL is unfortunate and will have an impact on Bangladesh cricket.
He said that the decision regarding the World Cup should be taken carefully and the long-term interests of Bangladesh cricket should be taken into account in this decision.
Tamim Iqbal said that public statements should not be made about the World Cup and should be avoided from hasty decisions.
He said that the announcement should be made only after the ICC is consulted and a decision is taken. There are competent people in the board and government who will make the final decision and present it to everyone.
Tamim Iqbal said, if the decision is changed later and the team goes to India, then how will its board respond? Discussion solves problems, the best way is to start discussions and solve problems internally.
It is worth mentioning that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the Bangladesh government have announced that they will not send the team to India for the ICCT World Twenty20 due to security concerns.
