Former Brazil and Real Madrid defender Roberto Carlos underwent surgery for heart disease.

According to foreign media, 52-year-old Roberto Carlos, who is now the ambassador of Real Madrid, was on vacation in his country of Brazil. During the medical examination, heart failure was revealed.

According to the report, Roberto Carlos was initially tested on a small blood clot in his leg, but a full MRI revealed heart problems, after which he was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery.

Roberto Carlos is now out of danger, but will remain under observation in the hospital for the next 48 hours as a precaution.

It should be noted that Roberto Carlos is considered one of the best attacking left backs in the history of football.

He played 125 matches for Brazil, participated in two World Cup finals (1998 and 2002) and won the World Cup in 2002. He also won the Champions League three times with Real Madrid.
