Report: Shakeel Yameen Kanga.Arvid Nordqvist of Sweden won the 2026 ITF Pakistan Championship title after defeating Muhammad Shoaib of Pakistan.
In the closing ceremony, Swedish Ambassador to Pakistan, Alexandra Berg van Linze, was the chief guest and Pakistan Tennis Federation President, Easam-ul-Haq Qureshi was also the guest of honour.
Among other personalities, the Charge d’Affaires of the United States Embassy in Islamabad, Natalie A. Baker, PTF Senator Saleem Saifullah Khan, Federal Secretary of the Ministry of International Cooperation Mr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Wani, Nicholas Wardano, Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan Operations ChiDomir A. Malik, PTF Secretary General Colonel Ziauddin Tufail, Major Sulaiman Junaid, Colonel Gul Rehman and Pakistan. Members of the units affiliated with the Tennis Federation participated.
86 male athletes from 22 countries participated in this prestigious international competition. The participating countries were Pakistan, Kuwait, Russia, Uzbekistan, Sweden, Morocco, Malaysia, United Kingdom, Italy, Lithuania, China, Turkey, Algeria, Canada, Ireland, Poland, Hong Kong, Greece, Lebanon, Germany, France and Japan.
In the men’s singles final, Sweden’s Arvid Nordqvist became the champion, defeating Pakistan’s Muhammad Shoaib 5-7, 6-3, 6-7.
Pakistan Tennis Federation President Aisamul Haq Qureshi expressed his happiness for holding two consecutive ITF M-15 tournaments in Pakistan and congratulated both the winners and runners-up for their good performance.
He added that after 25 years, Muhammad Shoaib of Pakistan became the first Pakistani player since Eysam-ul-Haq Qureshi to reach two consecutive finals in an ITF professional event, which is a proud moment for Pakistani tennis.
