Zimbabwe have retained legendary fast bowler Courtney Walsh as their support worker for the ICCT Twenty20 World Cup.
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will be played from February 7 to March 8 with Zimbabwe in Group B where they will face Australia, Ireland, Oman and Sri Lanka.
Zimbabwe Cricket manager Gaymore Makoni says Courtney Walsh’s appointment is aimed at improving the team’s technical skills ahead of the global event.
“Courtney Walsh has incredible experience at the highest level in international cricket, especially fast bowling, and we needed someone like that during the preparations for the T20 World Cup,” he said.
Zimbabwe’s Group B T20 World Cup team will open their campaign against Oman on February 9 in Colombo, then face Australia on February 13, Ireland on February 17 and Sri Lanka on February 19.
