In the ICCT Twenty20 World Cup, the Australian team crashed out of the Super Eight stage after two defeats in the competition, in the group stage they lost against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka, while the only win so far came against Ireland and the final group match of this event is against Oman today.
It is worth mentioning that before the World Cup, the Australian Cricket team had to have a clean sheet in the series against Pakistan and now after the team exited the mega event, Australian head coach Andrew Macdonald blamed the failure of the players.
Australia coach Andrew Macdonald says we should have scored more runs in the match against Zimbabwe, we need to improve in all three areas.
“A lot of players haven’t performed together. It’s not time to point fingers at everything but they will come back and evaluate everything and it will take some time,” he said.
Andrew Macdonald said that he has heard some people say that we do not care about the T20 World Cup, but we have been preparing hard for a while now.
The coach of the Australian team said that this performance should not depend on the fact that some players were not in our team, but we have to look at the current games that disappointed us and we have to accept those performances.
He said that before the next World Cup there are other tournaments, our players will play BBL and PSL.
Andrew Macdonald said that the T20I series is low but we will prepare, the expectations from the Australian cricket team are high which is true.
