The Pakistan Cricket Board is in talks to include England’s famous batsman Joe Root in the Pakistan Super League.
According to media reports, several franchises are interested in securing the route to strengthen their squads ahead of the extended edition of the tournament, however a final deal is yet to be finalised.
This development comes at a time when the interest of world-class players in the PSL continues to increase.
England all-rounder Moeen Ali and former South Africa captain Faf du Plessis have already added their names to the draft for next season.
According to sources, the PCB is also considering a draft system as well as direct player contracts, which would allow franchises to sign two foreign players outside the draft.
The 34-year-old Joe Root is known for his outstanding performances in international cricket and has recently become one of the greatest batsmen of the modern era by completing more than 22,000 international runs.
It is worth mentioning that the 11th edition of PSL will be played from March 26 to May 3, 2026, in which eight teams will participate for the first time.
