Pakistan defeated Zimbabwe by 8 wickets in the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup.
In the match played in Harare, Pakistan captain Farhan Yousuf’s decision to field for the first time proved useful as the hosts’ batting line-up collapsed for just 128 runs in 35.5 overs despite Nathaniel Hlabangana’s half-century.
Halabangana scored 59 runs off 85 balls with the help of seven fours from Zimbabwe, but they could not get enough support from the second end.
Apart from them, only Brendan Cenziri could reach double figures with 15 runs. The duo put on a 28-run partnership for the sixth wicket, the team’s highest partnership.
Ali Raza was the most outstanding bowler for Pakistan, taking 3 wickets for 16 runs in 8 overs. Muhammad Siyam, Momin Qamar and Abdul Subhan dismissed two players each and Ahmed Hiseen took one wicket.
