The time has come for the top cricketers to leave their respective franchises in the HBLPSL, the PCB has finalized the retention list which no one has objected to.
Islamabad United will have to let go of Naseem Shah, Sahibzada Farhan, Salman Ali Akha, Muhammad Nawaz and Imad Wasim to retain the services of Shadab Khan, while Lahore Qalandars will have to lose the services of Fakhar Zaman and Haris Rauf and retain captain Shaheen Shah Afridi.
While Babar Azam or Saeem Ayub face a tough decision for Peshawar Zalmi, the Quetta Gladiators will only be able to retain one of Faheem Ashraf, Muhammad Amir or Abrar Ahmed. Karachi Kings will be able to retain the only platinum category player Hasan Ali and Multan Sultans Muhammad Rizwan.
According to the details, 2 new teams will join PSL 11 namely Hyderabad and Sialkot, PCB has made changes in the rules to give them a chance to recruit key players. Previously each franchise was allowed to carry 8 players, now each team will only be able to carry 4 players from the previous season.
One player from each Platinum, Diamond, Gold and Silver category will remain. In the past, teams used to hire more stars than consultants, brand ambassadors or real-time talent, but now this is gone, as each team will lose the services of several key players.
The PCB finalized the suspension list, some franchises had initially intended to appeal but later changed their minds.
Islamabad United’s Shadab Khan, Naseem Shah, Sahibzada Farhan, Salman Ali Akha, Muhammad Nawaz and Imad Wasim were placed in the platinum category and only one of them will remain. Azam Khan, Haider Ali, Salman Irshad and Roman Raees Gold, Muhammed Faiq and Haneen Shah Silver, Saad Masood, Muhammad Shahzad and Gazi Ghori were also included in the Emerging category.
Only Hasan Ali of Karachi Kings is platinum and Abbas Afridi and Shaan Masood are part of diamond. Khushdal Shah, Amir Jamal, Irfan Khan Niazi, Mir Hamza, Zahid Mehmood, Umeer Bin Yousaf, Shahnewaz Dani and Irfan Minhas are in Gold, Mirza Mamoon Imtiaz in Silver and Riazullah, Fawad Ali and Saad Baig in Emerging.
Shahin Afridi, Fakhar Zaman and Haris Rauf from Qalandar Lahuri remained in platinum, 2 other players will not leave the team for a long time. Abdullah Shafiq and Muhammad Salman Mirza Almas, Zaman Khan, Jahandad Khan, Asif Afridi and Asif Ali Gold, Muhammad Akhlaq and Muhammad Naeem and Muhammad Azab Ziv and Momin Qamar are also in Emerging.
Peshawar Zalmi will have to make a tough decision whether to keep Babar Azam or Saeem Ayub in Platinum. Muhammad Haris, Muhammad Ali, Abdul Samad, Hussain Talat, Ahmed Daniyal and Ehsanullah Zarin, Almas Sufyan Muqim, Arif Yaqub, Mehran Mumtaz Silver and Abdullah Fazal, Ali Raza and Moaz Sadaqat are part of Emerging.
Muhammad Rizwan Platinum, Osame Mir, Iftikhar Ahmed and Usman Khan Almas, Kamran Ghulam, Muhammad Hassanin, Faisal Akram, Akif Javid, Tayyab Tahir Gold, Yasir Khan, Aamir Barki, Muhammad Junaid, Humayun Altaf, Jahan Shahzid Imbran, Jahand Sultan and Jahzada Sultan, and Muhammad Zulfaqar are in Emerging.
Mohammad Amir, Faheem Ashraf and Abrar Ahmed from Quetta Gladiators are among the platinum players who will be able to stay in the same team. Saud Shakeel, Muhammad Waseem Jr., Usman Tariq Diamond, Khurram Shehzad, Haseebullah Khan, Khawaja Muhammad Nafi, Hasan Nawaz, Danish Aziz Gold, Ali Majid Zilver and Muhammad Zeeshan and Shamil Hussain are among those who left.
