Australian cricketer Usman Khawaja’s family, who is of Pakistani origin, has come under intense racial and religious prejudice on social media.
According to reports, at a time when the whole of Australia was in mourning after the shooting incident in Sydney’s Bondi area, some extremists targeted the young daughters of Usman Khawce with a racist attack.
Usman Khawce is currently busy with the Aş series and he himself has not answered these messages.
But Raşel Khawaja’s wife shared the insulting and hateful messages on social media and said that such acts of hate have happened in the past but have increased a lot in recent days.
He said these messages are not only painful, but also a reminder of how minority communities face collective hatred in difficult times.
