The government of Pakistan has given permission to the national cricket team to play a match against India in the T20 World Cup 2026.

In the statement given by the government of Pakistan, it was said that Pakistan will play a match with India in the T20 World Cup. The National Team was asked to play the match on February 15 according to the program.

Sources said that PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi contacted Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Mohsin Naqvi also informed the Prime Minister about the position of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

Meanwhile, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, while speaking informally to reporters in Lahore, said that a decision regarding the India-Pakistan match would be taken soon.

Mohsin Naqvi also said, we took a stand for Bangladesh and spoke only for them.

PCB Chairman’s briefing to the Prime Minister

Mohsin Naqvi informed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif about the negotiations between PCB, BCB and ICC.

According to the statement regarding this matter, it was said in the briefing that the Bangladesh Cricket Board has asked for Pakistan’s support to solve the problem. Other countries including Sri Lanka and UAE supported Pakistan.

According to the statement, Pakistan has ensured full cooperation with Bangladesh. Prime Minister Shebhaz Sharif had a telephone conversation with the President of Sri Lanka and emphasized to resolve the current issue amicably.
