Islamabad:
The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) decided to suspend the selection process of the Hockey Federation and also instructed the Federation to give a written explanation within 7 days.
The PSB has written to the Pakistan Hockey Federation that the Hockey Federation has no authority to conduct elections, the process of registering and controlling clubs through the portal is illegal and the two-member Election Commission of the Hockey Federation has no legal status.
It was reported to the Hockey Federation that the PSB has declared its legal position in a letter on November 26, so the self-election of the Hockey Federation is a violation of Article 17.
The letter states that selection, registration of clubs and control of the hockey federation is the work of the PSB.
The Pakistan Sports Council has directed the Hockey Federation to submit a written explanation of its illegal activity within 7 days.
The PHF had announced its election programme, on which the PSB ordered the PHF to give its response within seven days after the release of the election programme.
PBS clarified that the PHF elections cannot be held without the permission of the government institutions. According to information, PHF announced the formation of an election commission consisting of two people.
