The first match of the three-match T20 series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka is being played today.
The series that starts today in Dambulla will start at 19.00 and other matches of the series will be played on 9 and 11 January.
In the pre-series press conference, captain Salman Ali Agha said that this series is a great opportunity for all the players to showcase their skills.
He said that playing in Sri Lanka before the World Cup is a big advantage for Pakistan and the team will try to adapt to the local conditions as soon as possible.
It must be noted that this series is considered very important in the preparations for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will be held from February 7 to March 8 in India and Sri Lanka.
Pakistan will play all their World Cup matches in Sri Lanka, so this series will provide the best opportunity for the national team to acclimatize to the local conditions and develop the best synergy.
Based on this series, the National Selection Committee will finalize Pakistan’s 15-member squad for the World Cup, so this series is a great opportunity for the players to perform well against the Sri Lankan team and secure their place in the World Cup.
