Report: Feyzan Lakhani. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) made a big decision and imposed a gender test for the participation of women in the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
The IOC says that only biological women will be able to participate in Olympic competitions in the women’s category. A one-time genetic test will be effective for an athlete’s life.
The World Committee says that athletes who test positive for the SRY gene will be ineligible for the women’s category, but athletes with certain exceptional medical conditions and the IOC will be excluded.
The International Olympic Committee said the new policy will be implemented from the 2028 Olympics. SRY positive players will be able to compete in the men’s, mixed or open category.
The IOC says that a negative test result is mandatory for women to compete.
