The auction for the two new teams to be added to the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will be held today at the Jinnah Convention Center in Islamabad.
The event will start at 4:15 PM and will be streamed live on the official YouTube channels of HBLPSL and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as well as Myco and PCB Live (UK Region).
The league is being expanded from six to eight teams in the 11th and historic PSL season, which will be played from March 26 to May 3, 2026. A total of 10 technically qualified tenders will compete for the two new teams.
The tenders include companies from various sectors, including agribusiness, telecommunications, real estate, an American software company and foreign technology companies including Pakistan.
The shortlist of potential franchise cities includes Faisalabad, Gilgit, Hyderabad, Muzaffarabad, Rawalpindi and Sialkot, two of which will get the chance to represent the new teams.
These two new teams will soon join the ranks of PSL franchises, including three-time champions Lahore Qalandars (2022, 2023, 2025) and Islamabad United (2016, 2018, 2024), Peshawar Zalmi (2017), Quetta Suliators (2019) and Karachi Gladiators (2019). (2021) are included.
It is worth noting that after two successful HBLPSL shows in London and New York in December 2025, 12 parties initially submitted their bids, but after technical evaluation, 10 bidders qualified for the final auction.
Renowned singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will also give a special performance at the end of the auction process, while the Pakistan Shaheens team that won the Rizing 2025 Asian Men’s Cup in Doha, and the winners of the Hong Kong Super Sixes will be felicitated for their outstanding achievements before the auction begins.
