The group stage of the T20 World Cup 2026 has entered its final stages. After that, the Super Eight stage matches will begin.
Pakistan was defeated in the match between Pakistan and India in the group stage after which the Indian team qualified for the Super Eight.
Pakistan needs to win the match against Namibia to reach the Super Eight, but even if Pakistan reaches the Super Eight, the teams of Pakistan and India will not be able to compete.
According to the format of the event, 2, 2 teams from each four groups will participate in the Super Eight stage and one team from each group will be divided into 2 groups of 4, 4 teams.
Thus, it is unlikely that Pakistan and India will be in the same group, but the top 2 teams from both groups will qualify for the semi-finals where Pakistan and India can compete.
In the semi-finals, the winning team of Group 1 will play against the second team of Group 2 and similarly the second team of Group 1 will play against the winning team of Group 2.
So now Pakistan and India can probably compete only in the knockout stage (semi-final or final).
It is worth remembering that the first semi-final will be played on March 4, the second on March 5 and the final on March 8.
