T20 World Cup: New Zealand through to Super 8 stage

In the ICC Twenty20 World Cup, New Zealand defeated Canada by 8 wickets in their final group match to advance to the Super Eight stage.

Canada finished top of the Group D match in the mega match at the Chidambaram Stadium scoring 173 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs.

Canada opener Yuvraj Sharma scored 110 runs in 65 balls with 11 fours and 6 sixes while skipper Dilpreet Bajwa scored 36 runs.

For New Zealand, Matt Henry, Jacob Duffy, Kyle Jameson and James Neesham got a wicket each.

Chasing a target of 174 runs, the Kiwi team set a target of 16 overs and qualified for the Super Eight stage.

For New Zealand, Richan Ravindra was out for 59 and Glenn Phillips was out for 76 runs.
