T20 World Cup: Namibia defeated by 102 runs, Pakistan reach Super Stage

In the T20 World Cup, Pakistan defeated Namibia by 102 runs to reach the Sprite stage.

In the match played at Singal Sports Club in Colombia, the Namibian team faced difficulties in chasing the target of 200 runs and their players went out.

In the round of 16, eight Namibian players came out and the team total was 96, Frylink 9, Lofty Eaton 5, Steenkamp 23 and captain Gerhard Erasmus returned to the pavilion after scoring 7 goals.

All the Namibian players were out on the 17th third ball, chasing the target of 200 runs, the Namibian team could only score 97 runs.

Usman Tariq 4, Shadab Khan 3 and Nawaz and Salman Mirza each scored on behalf of Pakistan.

Batting Pakistan

Earlier, Pakistan decided to bat first and thanks to Sahibzada Farhan’s record, Pakistan scored a mountain of runs against Namibia.

Thanks to Sahibzada Farhan’s unbeaten century, Pakistan scored 199 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Sahibzada Farhan remained unbeaten with 100 and Shadab Khan 36 runs.

This is Sahibzada Farhan’s maiden T20I century and he became the second Pakistani batsman after Ahmed Shahzad to score a century in a T20 World Cup.

Captain Salman Ali Akha scored 38 runs, Saim Ayyub scored 14 runs and Khawaja Nafi scored 5 runs.

Jack Brassell took 2 wickets and Gerhard Erasmus 1 wicket for Namibia.
