The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has expressed its ignorance of the news of a letter written to the ICC in support of Bangladesh’s position.

According to a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) spokesperson, the ICC is not aware of the subject of the letter written about Bangladesh not traveling to India to play the T20 World Cup.

The spokesperson of PCB says, we also learned from the media that something like this happened.

On the other hand, media reports claimed that the PCB supported the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s position by writing a letter to the ICC a day before the final decision regarding Bangladesh’s participation in the T20 World Cup.

The letter states that Bangladesh’s decision not to play matches in India is understandable due to political tensions in the region.

According to sources, PCB has also sent this letter to other members of the ICC board.

The ICC has called a board meeting on Wednesday to consider Bangladesh’s request to shift Bangladesh’s matches to Sri Lanka, which is co-hosting the event with India, due to security concerns.

However, it was not clear whether the meeting was held after the PCB’s letter or was prepared in advance.

Sources also say that the ICC has stood by its position so far and is not in favor of changing the schedule and not allowing Bangladesh to play in Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, with the support of the Bangladesh government, BCB refused to travel to India.

Several meetings were held between the two sides, the last meeting was held in Dhaka, but without any progress, the date of January 21 was set for the decision.

It should be noted that this controversy started when the Indian board allowed Kolkata Knight Riders to drop Mustafizur Rahman from the team for IPL 2026.
