The ICC rejected Bangladesh’s request to shift the T20 World Cup matches outside India.
Indian media claimed that the International Cricket Council has rejected Bangladesh’s request to shift the T20 World Cup matches from India to another country. According to reports, the ICC has ordered the Bangladesh team to play matches in India as per the schedule.
According to media sources, Bangladesh had requested to move their T20 World Cup matches to a neutral venue outside India due to security issues, but the ICC rejected this request and clarified that the matches will be held in India, otherwise Bangladesh may face loss of points.
On the other hand, a special TV report from Bangladesh Cricket sources said that no official ultimatum has been received from the ICC.
It is worth mentioning that Bangladesh requested the transfer of the matches on the basis of security threats in India and in this regard a day ago the Director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board Asif Akbar clearly said that his team will not go to India to play the T20 World Cup under any circumstances.
It must be remembered that IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders kicked out fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman from the league after threats from Indian Hindu extremists. After this incident, the relationship between the cricket boards of the two countries became strained and the Bangladesh Cricket Board announced after an emergency meeting that it would not send the team to India.
