Tensions between the ICC and Bangladesh further escalated, preventing Bangladeshi journalists from covering the T20 World Cup.
According to reports, the ICC has denied accreditation to more than 100 Bangladeshi journalists, so they will not be able to go to India and Sri Lanka to cover the event.
Speaking to the media, the senior journalist of Bangladesh said that even if the team does not play, the ICC still gives accreditation to the journalists of the associate members.
Organizations of journalists related to sports in Bangladesh have decided to announce the plan of action soon.
On the other hand, the Chairman of the Communications Committee of the Bangladesh Cricket Council, Amzad Hussain, said that 130 to 150 Bangladeshi journalists have applied for accreditation, despite confirming the lack of accreditation for journalists.
Amzad Hussain said that as far as I know the accreditations of all Bangladeshi journalists have been rejected.
It is worth mentioning that Bangladesh refused to go to India for security reasons and wanted to transfer their matches to Sri Lanka.
However, the ICC, showing double standards, rejected Bangladesh’s request and disqualified Scotland from the World Cup.
