Report: Abdul Majid Bhatti. The government of Pakistan has allowed the national team to participate in the T20 World Cup, but as in solidarity with Bangladesh, the Pakistan team will not take the field in the scheduled match against India on February 15 and will boycott the match, so the Indian broadcasters are afraid of heavy losses.

The India-Pakistan cricket match is considered to be the biggest sporting event in the world. According to the report, if Pakistan does not play the match against India, Indian broadcasters are likely to lose around $500 million ($141 billion) and the ICC will lose millions of dollars in match gate money.

According to a conservative estimate, half of the T20 World Cup revenue comes from the India-Pakistan match.

Pakistan receives a share of $35 million annually from the ICC. The PCB may also face legal action by the ICC after losing the broadcasters.

According to government sources, the main reason behind the boycott of the match against India is the ICC’s favorable decision against Bangladesh. ICC President Jay Shah made the International Cricket Council the Indian Cricket Council with his favorable decisions.

It is worth mentioning that the Bangladesh Cricket Board is sending its team to India due to security concerns during the T20 World Cup starting from February 7 in India and Sri Lanka, after which Pakistan supported Bangladesh’s position.

However, the ICC did not accept the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s position and made Scotland a part of the T20 World Cup 2026 instead of Bangladesh. Pakistan has taken a strong stance on the ICC’s pro-India policies and exclusion of Bangladesh from the tournament.
