Former England captain and renowned commentator Nasir Hussain also supported the stand of Bangladesh and Pakistan regarding the T20 World Cup dispute.

Nasir Hussain spoke to former England captain Michael Atherton on a British channel podcast and said that he appreciates the decision of both countries to ‘keep their word’.

The event was scheduled to be held from February 7 to March 8 in India and Sri Lanka, but Bangladesh refused to go to India due to security concerns and were subsequently pulled out of the tournament.

Nasir Hussain said the Bangladesh Cricket Board has taken a tough stand for its player Mustafizur Rahman, who was suddenly dropped by Kolkata Knight Riders despite being selected in the IPL.

After this decision, the situation got worse and Pakistan refused to play the match against India in support of Bangladesh.

Now the expected Pakistan-India match in Colombo on February 15 is under uncertainty.

Nasir Hussain called the growing process of politics in cricket sad and said that the goal of the game was to bring countries closer, but now this game is widening the distance.

He also described incidents like not shaking hands and refusing to hold the trophy at the 2025 Asian Cup as disappointing.

Nasir Hussain requested equality from ICC and asked if the same request comes from India, will the decision be different?

He said that now Indian fans will cry that we have money, but with power comes responsibility, and if small countries are continuously neglected, the balance of cricket will be further disturbed.
