The International Cricket Council (ICC) says the T20 World Cup will go ahead as scheduled, with Bangladesh’s matches to be played in India.
The ICC statement said that the decision was taken at the board meeting after a security assessment and it was determined that Bangladesh players, media, officials and spectators are not at risk anywhere in India.
According to board members, it is not possible to change the schedule so close to the tournament.
It is worth noting that Bangladesh refused to send its team to India for the T20 World Cup after the threats of extremists in India and the expulsion of player Mustafizur Rahman from the IPL and demanded that its matches be shifted to another country.
