The Bangladesh government has stood firm on its stance of not sending India to the 2026 T20 World Cup.

After a meeting in Dhaka between the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), the national players and the sports advisor, it is clear that Bangladesh is sticking to its position.

Bangladesh is not ready to play T20 World Cup matches in India and wants all its matches to be shifted to Sri Lanka.

After the meeting in a press conference, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Aminul Islam said that they will again approach the ICC with their plan.

According to him, it is not appropriate for the ICC to give 24 hours, because an international organization cannot exert such pressure.

Eminul Islam claimed that if Bangladesh leaves the World Cup, ICC will lose around 20 million fans and this will be a big loss for them.

He also said that it is not correct to call Sri Lanka as co-host but it is a hybrid model, while some things were very strange in the ICC meeting.

On the other hand, sports consultant Asif Nazrul said that he hopes the ICC will allow Bangladesh to play in Sri Lanka as the decision not to go to India has been taken by the government.

It is worth noting that on Wednesday, the ICC dismissed Bangladesh’s security concerns after a board meeting and warned that Bangladesh may be replaced by another team in the T20 World Cup, if that position is maintained.
