Pakistan beat hosts Sri Lanka by 6 wickets in the first match of the tri-series T20I.
In the match played in Dambulla, Sri Lanka set a target of 129 runs to Pakistan, which the green shirts won in 16.4 overs with the loss of 4 wickets.
Sahibzada Farhan from the green shirts scored a half century and played 51 runs off 36 balls, Saim Ayyub scored 25 runs, Salman Ali Axa scored 16 runs and Fakhar Zaman played 5 runs.
Earlier, the Sri Lankan team were bundled out for 128 runs in 19.2 overs, with Janith Liyanage top-scoring with 40 runs.
Salman Mirza and Abrar Ahmed scored 3 and 3 goals for Pakistan, and Muhammad Wasim and Shadab Khan scored 2 and 2 respectively.
The Pakistani team consisted of Saeem Ayub, Sahibzada Farhan, Salman Ali Akha, Fakhar Zaman, Usman Khan, Muhammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Muhammad Wasim Jr., Salman Mirza and Abrar Ahmed.
Sri Lanka’s final XI consisted of Patham Nissanka, Kamil Mishra, Kaushal Mendes, D’Silva, Charith Asalanka, Dawson Shanaka, Janeth Liyanage, Hasaranga, Chimera, Tekshana and Tushara.
The second of the 3 T20 matches between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be played on January 9 and the third on January 11.
