Spain’s Carlos Alcarez won the Australian Open men’s championship for the first time.

Alcarez defeated 10-time Serbian star Novak Djokovic in four sets in the final of the tournament in Melbourne.

Alcarez lost the first set of the match 6-2, but made a brilliant comeback to win the next three sets 2-6, 3-6 and 5-7 to take the title.

At the age of 22, Alcarez became the first player to win 7 Grand Slam titles.
