South Africa beat India by 76 runs in the 43rd and most important match of the Super Eights stage of ICCT 20 World Cup 2026.
Chasing down the target of 188 runs and leading by 111 runs in the match played at the Ahmedabad Stadium, India’s last T20 World Cup winning streak ended.
With this victory, the South African team accounted for the defeat of the defending champions India in the last T World Cup final.
The Indian team, which had won all the matches of the 2024 World Cup, had to face defeat today after 12 consecutive victories in the T20 World Cup.
India’s batting line-up looked helpless in front of the South African bowlers, Shivam Dubey was the top batsman with 42 runs, while no other batsman could give a satisfactory performance apart from Hardik Pandya and 18, 18 and 18, 18 and the entire team was bundled out for 111.
From South Africa, Marco Jansson took 4 wickets, Keshav Maharaj 3 and Karbon Bosch 2 wickets.
Earlier, South Africa batted first and scored 187 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs.
David Miller was the top scorer with 63 runs, Dewald Brews 45, captain Aiden Markram 4, de Kock 6, Ryan Rickleton 7, Marco Jansson 2 and Corbin Bosch returned to the pavilion after scoring 5.
South Africa’s Tristan Stubbs was out for 44 and Kagiso Rabada was out for zero.
Jasprit Bumrah 3, Arsdeep Singh 2, Varun Chakraborty and Shivam Dubey took a wicket each for India.
India will play their next match against Zimbabwe on February 26, while South Africa and West Indies will compete on the same day.
