South Africa have announced the final 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 under the captaincy of Aiden Markram.
According to the international news agency, the South African team includes world-class experienced players.
Like Quinton de Kock who recently returned from international retirement and fast bowler Enrich Northje who returned to the team after recovering from a serious injury.
The announced team of South Africa is announced as a strong team because it has a good combination of batting, bowling and everything.
In South Africa’s batting line-up, Aiden Markram (captain), de Kock, Tony de Zorzi, Dewald Brewis, David Miller and Donovan Ferreira will run the opposition’s games on the boundary lines.
Apart from that, there are also dangerous places like Kagiso Rabada, Koena Mafaka, Ngidi, Corbin Bosch and Nortje to break the waves of the opposition team.
Similarly, spinners like Keshav Maharaj and George Linde, who steal the opposition spins by googling and bowling from different angles, are also part of the team.
Aiden Markram and Ferreira themselves occasionally bowl spin.
Thus, the fast bowling attack and the magic of the spinner will work together in Sri Lankan conditions.
However, this time there was a big surprise change in the South African team. Tristan Stubbs, who was permanently attached to the team, failed to make the squad for the World Cup.
Remember South Africa reached the T20 World Cup final last year where they lost to India.
According to the ICC statement, 20 teams will participate and 55 matches will be played in India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8, 2026.
