Snooker: Shaun Nimat pulls off a major upset by defeating the top player

Shaun Nimat upsets Ian Mark John at the Golden Jubilee National Snooker Championship, 3-time world champion Muhammad Asif continues his string of impressive performances at the event.

He made 2 century breaks in the opening round for the third time, completing the pre-quarterfinal run in the championship.

The pre-quarter final matches will be played on Monday in the ongoing championship at the NBP Sports Complex, Clifton.

It includes Rana Irfan (Punjab) Akash Rafiq, Ali Hamza (Sindh), Owais Munir (Punjab), Esjad Iqbal’s Shan Nimat, Ahsan Ramadan (Punjab) Abdul Sattar (Sindh), Shahid Aftab (Punjab) Muhammed Asif, Muhamad Tariqzab, P. (Punjab) Abdul Javed (Islamabad), Hasnain Akhtar will compete with Sohail Shahzad (Sindh).

In the qualifiers, Shaan Nimat 2-4, in the last round of 24, Akash Rafiq of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa defeated Mudassar Yaqoob 0-4, Owais Muneer (Punjab) Zeb Khan (Balochistan) defeated Nialamat (I John Shaaan) 2-4, (Shingal) 2-4, Abdul Sattar (Sindh) Muhammad Faizan of his province 0 – 4, Muhammad Asif (NBP) Zulfikar A Qadir (Sindh) 0 – 4, Muhammad Sajjad (NBP) defeated Sultan Muhammad (Sindh) 2 – 4 (Is Abdulzaabad) (Is Abdulzaabad) 2 – 4. 4, Syed Hasnain Akhtar (Sindh) defeated Asif Toba (Punjab) 2 – 4.
