Report: Feyzan Lakhani. An unintentional world record was set in first-class cricket in the President’s Trophy, where an SNGPL team failed to chase down a very low target.

In the match played between PTV and SNGPL, PTV team created history by successfully defending the lowest score in the history of first class cricket.

In this match SNGPL set a target of just 40 runs to win but the entire team was bowled out for just 37 runs. PTV thus became the team to keep the lowest target in the history of first class cricket.

With this match, a record of 231 years was broken. Earlier in 1794, the MCC team failed to reach the target of 41 runs against Oldfield.
