The name and logo of the new Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise, acquired by OZ Developers earlier this month and assigned to Sialkot, were finally revealed on Wednesday.
Sialkot team owner Kamil Khan today revealed ‘Sialkot Stallionz’ as the name of his franchise in a social media post.
“I am excited to be part of the Pakistan Super League journey,” he wrote on X.
Khan had announced on Tuesday that the name of his franchise would be revealed today at 2 p.m.
In a separate social media post today, the team announced: “The wait is over. A new force is rising: Sialkot Stallionz.”
Earlier this month, a historic bid of Rs 1.85 billion from OZ Developers in the PSL franchise auction saw Sialkot become one of the two new teams.
OZ Developers had engaged in a bidding war with software firm i2c before outbidding its offer of Rs 1.82 billion.
Hyderabad was the other PSL team selected from the allocated cities, winning the franchise for Rs 1.75 billion under the FKS Group.
This will be the first appearance for Hyderabad and Sialkot since the inception of the league in 2015, with this year’s tournament scheduled from March 26 to May 3.
Sialkot Stallionz will join Lahore Qalandars, Islamabad United, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans as other teams in the PSL.
