Second T20: India suffer a humiliating defeat at the hands of South Africa

In the second match of the T20 series, South Africa beat India by 51 runs to level the five-match series 1-1.

In the match played in New Chandigarh, South Africa, India batted first for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs.

Quinton de Kock stood out with a smokey 90 for the Proteas. Captain Aiden Markram scored 29, Dewald Brews scored 14 and Reza Hendricks scored 8. Donovan Ferreira and David Miller brought 30 and 20 runs back to the pavilion respectively.

Varun Chakraborty took 2 wickets and Akshar Patel took 1 wicket for India.

Chasing the target, the Indian team was bowled out for 162 runs in the last over.

Tak Verma scored 62 runs for India. Jitesh Sharma 27, Hardik Pandya 20, Akshar Patel 21, Abhishek Sharma 17, skipper Surya Kumar Yadav 5, Arsdeep Singh 4, Shivam Dubey 1, while Shibman Gill and Varun Chakraborty were absent.

Ottonel Bartman took 4 wickets on behalf of South Africa. Marco Jensen, Lungi Ngheti and Lutho Sipamala scored 2 goals each.

The third match of the series will be played on December 14 in Dharamshala.
