In the eleventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the defending champion team Lahore Qalandars faced a new controversy.
According to reports, the Punjab Police has accused the team of Lahore Qalendar of serious violation of the security protocol.
According to the letter written by the police, team captain Shahin Shah Afrini and foreign player Sikandar Raza allegedly disobeyed the instructions and took 4 unauthorized people to the hotel floor where the team was staying.
The letter states that the men were present in the players’ room for about three hours.
According to this report, the Liaison Officer of the first team requested the relevant authorities to allow those people, but the request was rejected due to security reasons.
Later, an attempt was made to seek permission from the franchise management, but that too failed.
However, it is said that the players managed to get the guests inside despite the resistance of the security staff.
The police expressed their serious concern that this act is a clear violation of the security protocol and requested to prevent such incidents in the future.
On the other hand, the management of the team says that they are in contact with the league officials about the matter and an explanation will be given soon.
Sikander Raza in the press conference after the match Sikander Raza said that Şahin didn’t do anything arbitrary, I told him that my family came, they brought him on my request.
He said that this is the fifth year that I have been participating in the PSL, this did not happen in the first four years, now if the protocols were made, I and Şahin were not aware of it.
Şahin Shah Efrini didn’t do anything arbitrary, he went at my request, I told him my family has arrived. There was nothing like that in the first 4 years. If there was a change, I don’t know. The culprit of this matter is Skand Raza sitting in front of you. pic.twitter.com/0mn56VAgss
