The auction ceremony was held at Expo Center Lahore where Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi was present. Former PCB chairman Najam Sethi and former national team captain Zaheer Abbas were also present on the occasion.
The original prize for Multan Sultan was set at $182 million, while 5 bidders competed for the ownership rights of Multan Sultan.
The highest auction price of Multan Sultans was Rs 245 crore and the franchise was sold for Rs 245 crore.
The PSL Multan team was bought by Wiley Tech for 2 billion 45 billion rupees for 10 years and the team name was Rawalpindi. Multan has become the most expensive PSL franchise.
On this, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said that I thank all the bidders who participated in the auction, they tried to sell Sultans of Multan at a good price. Cricket is very popular in Multan.
PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi congratulated Vali Tech for buying the Multan Sultans team and said that he will cooperate with the owners of Rawalpindi in any way, he said that Multan was upset about the team name change.
According to the PCB, a total of 6 proposals were received within the specified time, after detailed and clear evaluation, 5 tenders were technically determined and participated in the auction.
It is worth mentioning that Multan Sultans is one of the famous and famous PSL franchise and the former owner of this franchise, Ali Tareen, refused to renew the contract and then the auction of this franchise was announced.
