Pakistan’s decision to withdraw from the Scottish Open Squash Championship

After the Open Junior Squash Championship 2025 and the British Open Junior Squash Championship 2026, Pakistan also withdrew from the Scotland Open Junior Squash Championship 2025.. The Pakistan Squash Federation protested this decision due to unilateral and biased action.

According to details, Pakistan has decided not to participate in the Scottish Junior Open Squash Championship after the 2026 United States Junior Open Squash Championship and the 2026 British Junior Open Squash Championship. The organizers of the three international youth tournaments have changed the categories according to the age of the Pakistani players.

Meanwhile, the US Open Junior Championship started without Pakistani players in Philadelphia on Saturday. The Pakistani player did not participate in the competition.

Earlier in the US Open Junior, Raheel Victor Quander went from 11 to under 13, Muhammad Ali Rajas from 13 to under 15, Nauman Khan and Ahmed Ryan Khan from under 15 to 17, Azan Ali Khan, Muhammad Umeer Arif, Obeydullah from girls under 91 and Mahaidullah from under 19. Category 15, Abdullah Nawaz, Muhammad Yahya Khan and other categories were also changed.

On the other hand, in the British Open Children’s Squash Championship which is being held from January 2 to 6 in Birmingham, the categories of Pakistani players have been changed and their names have been included in the games. Muhammad Rian Zaman U-11, Ibrahim Ahmed, Muhammad Mustafa Khan, Muhammad Saim U-13, Abdullah Zaman, Huzaifa Shahid, Yahya Khan, Umar Farooq Butt U-17, Abdullah Nadeem, Muhammad Umeer Arif U-19, Shahrash Ali and so on. Mahnur Ali’s sister is in the category of girls under 15 years old. The European Squash Federation confirmed the decision of the organizers.

17 Pakistani players, including the three sisters of Ali Peshawar, have entered the Scottish Open Children’s Squash Championship, which started from December 28 in Edinburgh, Scotland.
