The US Open Junior Squash Championship will be held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from December 20-23, while the 2026 British Open Junior Squash Championship will be played in Birmingham from January 2-6.
The organizers of the two world junior tournaments have changed their categories after revealing their doubts about the age of the Pakistani players.
According to information, the World Squash Federation and the European Squash Federation have confirmed the decision of the organizers. According to the decision, Pakistani Raheel Victor, who was registered in the Boys U-19 competition, was transferred from the U-13 category, Muhammad Ali Rajas from U-13 to U-15, Nauman Khan and Ahmed Ryan Khan from U-15 to U-17, Azan Ali Khan, Muhammad Umir Arif and Ubaid-Ubaidullah were transferred. In the same way, Mahnur Ali of Peshwa, who had won dozens of international competitions, moved from girls under 13 years to the category of girls under 15 years. Also, the categories of Pakistan’s young players Abdullah Nawaz Muhammad Yahya Khan and others were also changed.
It is worth mentioning that most of the Pakistani players have reached America to participate in the US Open Junior and are practicing hard these days. Other Pakistani players also left for America on Thursday. Due to the decisions of the organizers of the two events, there was a wave of concern in the squash circles of Pakistan.
