DAMBULLA: Persistent rains washed away the second Twenty20 International between Sri Lanka and Pakistan at Dambullah without a ball being bowled on Friday.

Salman Ali Agha-captained Pakistan led the three-match series 1-0 after comfortably beating Sri Lanka by six wickets at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Wednesday.

The final match of the series will be played on Sunday at the same venue.

The series is a preparation for next month’s ICC T20 World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

Pakistan, who play all their World Cup matches in Sri Lanka, are set to host Australia for a three-match T20 series before the start of the World Cup on February 7.

Sri Lanka are also set to host England in a white-ball series later this month.
